•    Start blogging.  Blogging is an excellent way to get feedback from your target market.  You can then use the information gained in developing a marketing plan with the power of attraction.
•    Use the tools your target market uses, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, YouTube, and Twitter.  Using the social media sites that your target market is using gives you the opportunity to meet them on their ground and then you can lead them to your website.  This is attraction marketing in action.
•    Start using articles to provide information to your target market.  The use of articles has the power to establish yourself as the expert for your target market.  As you build your expert reputation, your target market will began to have confidence and trust in you and your business.

Attraction marketing has the potential to build long term relationships with your target market.  As an added benefit you will also receive improved ranking on the search engines.  Google and Yahoo are attracted to sites with relevant information which flows in a natural manner.  They are your matchmakers.

Fast Forward Social Media Network Sites. Business as usual?

Social media sites have become entrenched as a form of communication and networking in our present world.   It connects family, schools, churches and has become central focus for online business marketing.  It would be fun to look into a crystal ball to see what lies ahead for social network media in the world of business.

This type of network emerged during the 90’s and has continued to experience growth in every sector of life.  Today there are hundreds of social network sites reaching various sectors of the population based upon age, religion, ethnicity, interest, work, business and the list goes on.  

For businesses the reality is today that, if you are trying to build an online presence, being active on social network sites is a necessary part of your marketing plan.   Twitter and Facebook are common names in household’s, businesses, and even among celebrity circles of the elite.

Some of the social network sites have seen a shift in their groups of interest.  Myspace is a good example of this as it started out with teenage popularity but the shift in popularity has now shifted to groups over the age of 18. And Myspace has lost market share to Facebook.

Could this shift in popularity be a sign of the demise of Myspace?  What will the effect for more robust social network sites be?  Will the present social media network sites keep pace with the ever demanding need for more technology and creativity?  It seems so much success is hinged on luck.  Hidden behind most of the success, however, lies genius.  But then rarely is creative genius the most competent business leader.

What will be the next new piece of technology that will target the next generation?   It may be just another social network site, but then perhaps it is something with a different twist that will make even a greater impact upon the way business and networking is performed.  It actually depends on the creator, his or her genius, and the ability to bring it to market.  Hey, this sounds like business as usual!

Utilize Ping.fm and Twitter to Revise your LinkedIn Profile

With Ping.fm you can revise all of your social networks including your LinkedIn status at one time and it is even a free service.  You do not have to log into each network individually and review the status within each network.  You can utilize Ping.fm to simultaneously revise all of your networks.  This makes efficient use of your valuable time.

Revising with Ping.fm

You will first need to add to your list of social networks, LinkedIn.   Simply log into ping.fm and follow the links to add networks on the Dashboard.  You will select LinkedIn, confirm and that is all there is to it.

You now can send a tweet concerning your LinkedIn status revision.

Revising  with Twitter®

To revise your LinkedIn status with Twitter, you will need to go to your LinkedIn profile to add your account for Twitter.  To identify the network which will receive and post the tweet include #in or #li in the message field of tweets you send. A  In just a very short time you will see you’re the revision in your LinkedIn.  In just a short while you will see your status in LinkedIn is revised.

@replies are filtered out by LinkedIn, therefore tweets sent with @LinkedIn will not revise your LinkedIn profile.

You can revise your status using your cell phone as well as by email using both Ping.fm and Twitter.   Your status can virtually be revised from just about any location.

After you have finished adding to your LinkedIn profile a Twitter account you will be able to use Twitter to revise your LinkedIn status by following these steps.

  1. Under network updates enter in the text field your status update.
  2. Next to the Twitter icon click on the box.  Using the drop down box select the Twitter account you desire to send the revision to, that is if you have more than one Twitter account linked to LinkedIn.
  3. Click "share."
